Founded in 1982, Restaurant Quebra Mar is located in the North part of Madeira Island, precisely in São Vicente. It has since it's opening become a reference for local the local market.
The restaurant is characterized by its distinct arquitecture and for being one of the few rotating restaurants in the world, due to its Panorâmic rotating Room that allows its visitors a fascinating view over the whole North Shore, altering between the São Vicente Mountains and the Sea, and all of this while enjoying a nice meal.
Quebra Mar Restaurant offers has the capacity to host events and banquets, Buffets and Á-Lá-Carte service in a selective environment where quality and distinction prevails.
In the Quebra Mar Restaurant, our Chef invites you to discover the astaunishing flavours of Traditional Madeiran Food. You will find spectialties like the "Caldo da Romaria" (Tipical soup of São Vicente), Pork Meat in Wine and Garlic, Shrimp Rice, Tuna Steak with Fried Corn or our Traditional "Espetada" in the Louro stick, always along our selected wine menu.
If you choose for an outdoor meal, our Terrace built over the waves of the ocean allows for a fantastic view over the horizon and to the nearby municipalities of the North Coast. Here you wil find a lighter menu that also contains snacks, ice creams and fresh beverages.
Located in the North Center of the Madeira Island, São Vicente municipality is constituted by three parishes: São Vicente, Ponta Delgada and Boaventura, covering a surface of 7870 hectares, making São Vicente one of the most extense municipalities of the island.
Since São Vicente is home to one of the biggest extensions of Laurissilva Forest in Madeira, it allows its visitors to have nature related activities, such as walks on levadas and veredas which will take you to discover astonishing landscapes on our mountains. If you prefer the sea, you can also practice sports like Surf, do some fishing or underwater hunting and photography. Our beach complexes nearby also allow for a nice afternoon.
Besides all of these activities you can also visit the fantastic São Vicente Caves, the Vulcanic Center of São Vicente or to the Rota da Cal Museum, which will take you to know the origins and foundations of Madeira Island.
